Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: The Owner insures the yacht and equipment against fire, marine and collision risks, third-party damage and loss or damage in excess of 550.000 (wording unclear).
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~600 HP engines burn roughly 48 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 1008 L ≈ €1764 at €1.75/L — scale it to your own plans.
What does the skipper do on board?
Your skipper handles navigation, mooring, anchoring and manoeuvring, keeps the deck and cockpit in order, and manages refuelling, water and port formalities at your expense. Interior cleaning and cooking aren't part of the skipper's role. The skipper navigates up to 6 hours a day unless agreed otherwise and motors in and out of ports.
Will someone cook and clean for us?
If you request a hostess/steward, they do the daily shopping, prepare and serve breakfast and a light meal, and clean the communal areas daily. A third crew member as a chef can offer a full three-meal menu.
What sailing experience does my crew need?
You or someone in your party must have the seamanship and sailing competence for the trip. You'll be asked to help the skipper with sailing, anchoring and mooring when needed, following the skipper's instructions.
What happens if the weather turns bad?
Your skipper keeps everyone's safety and comfort first, looking at the crew's abilities and the current and forecast sea conditions. They decide the route and whether to spend the night at anchor or in port. They'll explain their reasoning and agree an alternative plan with you.
Are there limits on how I can use the boat?
Yes. You can't break customs laws, fish or spearfish against local rules, or take archaeological objects, and drugs are prohibited on board. A serious breach can end the agreement, and you'd answer to the authorities. Children must also be supervised by an adult or nanny from your group at all times.
