Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: The operator's policy covers Compulsory Passenger Insurance and Compulsory Civil Liability Insurance. Passengers' personal property is not covered.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~75 HP engine burns roughly 6 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 126 L ≈ €215 at €1.71/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Spain?
Not personally — a skipper is included with this boat and holds the licence. Generally, though: A recognised sailing licence is required, with an ICC typically requested for non-Spanish skippers chartering a bareboat.
Can I bring my dog or other pet on board?
Unfortunately not. We don't allow any domestic animals on board, including dogs, cats and birds.
Are there limits on how I can use the boat?
Yes. The boat can't be sublet or handed to a third party, used commercially to carry people or goods, or taken into regattas and competitions without our prior written consent. Fishing and underwater activities need valid licences, and the skipper must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Please don't leave port if winds above 22 knots are forecast or if the port authorities have banned departures. We don't accept weather as a reason for returning late, so plan your route to be about 40 NM from the return port two days before the end of your trip.
Where am I allowed to sail?
Your charter covers Spanish territorial waters. If you'd like to sail beyond them, tell us as soon as possible and confirm it in writing at least 60 days before your charter starts, at your own cost.
What should I do if something breaks during my trip?
Contact us right away and follow our team's instructions. If the problem is fixed within 24 hours, no refund applies. If the boat has to return to base because of a fault on our side, you get a refund for the days lost. Unreported damage is treated as your responsibility.
