Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: Each yacht has its own insurance covering the main risks required by Italian legislation.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~19 HP engine burns roughly 1.5 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 32 L ≈ €62 at €1.95/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Italy?
The skipper needs a valid sailing licence and VHF certificate, ideally issued by their country of residence (an ICC is widely accepted).
Are sheets and towels included?
They are not included as standard. Sheets and towels are available on request for 15 euro per person, and beach towels for 15 euro per person, both paid at the base.
What optional extras can I add to my charter?
On request you can add an outboard (120 euro/week), a SUP (120 euro/week), external cushions (60 euro/week) or food provisioning (15% service charge). Extras are paid at the base.
What condition should I return the boat in?
Final cleaning is compulsory and paid at the base, so you don't need to do a full deep clean yourself. The fee depends on the model, from 120 euro for the smaller yachts up to 200 euro for the largest.
What happens during the boat handover and return?
Our staff go through the operational tests and the inventory of safety equipment and all items on board with you. You both sign the checklist, and we repeat the same procedure when you bring the boat back.
