About this boat

Loc Voile Armor invites you to board this fantastic sailboat, which has convinced more than one sailor! The Oceanis 40 undeniably embodies the pleasure of design, comfort, and performance. The Oceanis 40 has a true character: contemporary lines where brightness, comfort, and well-being take precedence on board. Equipped with a Raymarine GPS directly integrated into the pod in the cockpit, you can monitor the chart in real time. It’s hard to find better in terms of comfort and cruising sailboats; its three cabins and convertible saloon can accommodate up to 8 people on board, making it perfect for a group of friends or a family. The owner has recently purchased a new outboard motor, and the dinghy attaches to the arch (above the transom), making launching extremely easy. Rent this versatile sailboat now and let yourself be carried away by the experience of high-end sailing. Its double helm is practical and adapts to all conditions. This monohull does not overlook performance under sail and will safely accompany you along the stops departing from Saint-Quay-Portrieux.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: The operator has comprehensive insurance on the vessel, subject to a deductible. It covers civil liability, theft, damage following a sea event and total loss.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~40 HP engine burns roughly 3.2 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 67 L ≈ €131 at €1.95/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in France?
Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: No formal licence is legally required to skipper a bareboat sailing yacht, though charter companies expect a sailing résumé and usually an ICC or equivalent.
Can I bring my dog or other pet on board?
Unfortunately not. Animals are not allowed on our boats, for hygiene reasons.
What happens if the weather is bad during my charter?
If Météo-France issues a special weather bulletin for force 7 winds or more over more than half of your charter, we give you a credit for the full rental, valid for 12 months. Otherwise, days you can't sail because of weather are not refunded.
Where am I allowed to sail?
Our insurance covers the area between 30°N and 60°N and between 20°W and 20°E. To go beyond it you need our permission and must pay the extra insurance premium, otherwise the boat is not insured there.
Do we need to prove our sailing experience?
Yes. When you book we ask for your nautical CV, any navigation licences and your crew list. If we think your crew's skills aren't enough to keep everyone and the boat safe, we can require a professional skipper at your expense, whatever certificates you hold.
What should I do if something breaks or gets damaged during my trip?
Call us straight away. Our technician is reachable by phone 7 days a week in season, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., to give advice or arrange an intervention. Note down any damage or repairs in the logbook, and report any insurance claim immediately.
