Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: Cover against damage or loss to the yacht and her equipment is required for all bareboat and skippered charters, and is settled through the security deposit.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~55 HP engine burns roughly 4.4 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 92 L ≈ €179 at €1.95/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Greece?
Two crew with proof of competence are required — a skipper holding an ICC or national equivalent and a co-skipper who signs a declaration of sailing experience.
Can I bring my dog or other pet on board?
Pets are not allowed by default. If you'd like to bring one, ask us first, and we can accept it in written confirmation. An extra fee applies in that case.
Is cleaning included, or do I need to clean the boat before I return it?
An obligatory Standard Charter Pack covers end cleaning, water, one set of bed linen and towels per person, and 2 gas bottles. It costs between 80 and 180 EUR depending on the number of cabins and is paid in cash at the base before you embark.
Does the price include a skipper or cook?
No. Skipper and hostess/cook services are not included in the charter rate. Fuel, water, mooring and canal fees, provisioning and transfers are also extra.
How do I order extras like a paddle board, Wi-Fi or extra linen?
Please pre-order optional extras at least one week before your charter. Extras requested at the base depend on last-minute availability. Everything is paid in cash at the base before embarkation.
What if I find a problem or want to raise a claim after the charter?
Send your claim to us by e-mail within 3 days of the end of the charter. Claims made after that period may be disregarded.
About Port of Volos
The Port of Volos sits right in the heart of Thessaly's capital, putting you steps away from the city's famous tsipouradika — the waterfront tavernas where locals pair tsipouro shots with endless small plates of seafood. Read more →
