About this boat

Friends who'd rather swim off the boat than sit on a quay will like this stretch of Carian coast: pine-lined bays a short hop apart, anchoring before the afternoon breeze builds. Radar aboard means easier calls on timing those hops.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this boat insured, and who pays for damage?
Yes — every boat on charter.boats is insured by its operator; we require it. The policy covers the vessel for fire, collision and third-party liability. For damage it doesn't cover, your liability is usually limited to the security deposit, except where the operator's terms say otherwise. Operator terms: The charterer must hold valid insurance. The operator insures the yacht against legally mandatory risks and others it considers appropriate.
How much will fuel cost?
Fuel isn't included — you return the tank full. Estimated from engine power: this boat's ~30 HP engine burns roughly 2.4 L/h while motoring, so a typical week (about 3 h a day, ~21 h) works out to roughly 50 L ≈ €75 at €1.50/L — scale it to your own plans.
Do I need a sailing licence in Turkey?
Not if you add a skipper — this boat offers one, who holds the licence. Generally, though: No licence is required by Turkish law, but charter companies require proof of competence such as an ICC or RYA Day Skipper certificate.
Are there limits on how I can use the boat?
Yes. You can't race, tow other boats (except in an emergency), carry illegal substances, or sub-lease the yacht. Only the people listed in the transit log may be on board.
Where am I allowed to sail?
You must stay within the navigation area stated in your charter agreement. Leaving it can lead us to end your charter without any claim on your part. Sailing outside Turkish waters needs cabotage permission and also falls outside the insurance cover.
Can I sail at night or in bad weather?
Please don't sail in bad weather. Reduce or furl the sails if needed to avoid stressing the yacht. Night sailing is only allowed when necessary.
How many people can come aboard?
No more than the yacht's maximum capacity, and everyone must be declared in the transit log. You are responsible for the safety and fitness to sail of everyone on board, and for any visas or vaccinations needed.
What if the operator doubts my sailing competence?
If we have doubts about your ability to handle the boat, we can appoint a captain at your cost. You can't cancel because of this, and refusing a captain can mean we don't hand over the yacht and don't refund the rent.
When is the best time to sail in Turkey?
April–October along the Turquoise Coast (Bodrum, Göcek, Fethiye); hot, dry summers with gentle afternoon breezes ideal for cruising.
